Seminar Overview:

New York State Labor Law Section 240 holds owners and general contractors strictly liable for injuries and sequelae from height-related accidents, including falls from ladders and scaffolds. Labor Law 241(6) requires that employers provide “reasonable and adequate protection and safety” to all employees performing “construction, excavation, or demolition work.”  Labor Law 240 and 241 (6) cases are high stakes for both sides, making mediation all the more important.

Proper preparation is vital to the successful resolution of labor law matters. Halina Manesis, Esq., NAM Hearing Officers, James W. Borkowski, Esq. and Mitchell R. Kahn, Esq., will provide tips and insights from experienced litigators and mediators by taking lawyers for a look behind the scenes of the mediation process with an emphasis on preparation, including premediation discussions, submissions and what a mediator is looking for to facilitate the resolution.
