This course is an introduction to the most common issues in personal injury law. It is intended for young attorneys and lawyers entering personal injury law, as well as for paralegals who encounter these issues daily.

We will cover the following issues:
  • Initial sign-up and investigation of a client’s case
  • Handling automobile cases, the most common type of injury case, including:
    • No Fault
    • The Definition of "Serious Injury"
    • Proving a Case
    • Supplemental Uninsured Motorist Coverages ("SUM")
  • Municipal cases including:
    • Notices of Claim
    • Who to Sue
    • Where to Sue
  • Premises cases including:
    • Sidewalks and Roadways
    • Buildings (Stairs and Ceiling Collapses)
    • Construction Cases
  • Settling, Mediating, and Arbitrating
